Rivendell from Peter Jackson's movie The Lord of the Rings (after novel by JRR Tolkien). I drew it with pencil. It took me about 6-7 hours.

This is beautifully done. The crisscross strokes make it look like it could have been done with ink. it must have taken a great deal of patience and dedication. It is lovely

I planed, when summer holidays arrive, to draw this same scene on B2 paper, using new methods, maybe try watercolours or sth..but now as you mentioned ink, I never thought of that! I might make with ink outline and water colors to add colour.
Here's what I did with ink for my poster project. Ink is great actually, but requires patience and precision. [link]
And yes, I really wanted to make this looking great when I drawed Rivendell. :)

I hope you decide to share the result if you end up trying it. I have been browsing your gallery and enjoying your lotr fan art especially, being a fan myself (though my work focuses more on people of Middle Earth than places [link] ). Have you thought about attempting one like this of Erebor now that we've seen it in The Hobbit? I thought it was quite impressive in the film and I think you might be able to do a great job of sketching it.

Yes, I agree. Scene with Erebor on the beginning is one of my favorite, stunning.
I'll try that also. I can't stand fact that I don't have something *unique* for Hobbit, not universal like "Rivendell".
